Most full-time HGEA members enjoy 21 days vacation, 21 days sick leave (except DOE 10-month employees who have summers off), paid holidays and medical coverage. It’s Better In a Union

Membership Services
The HGEA Member Service Center (MSC) is a centralized unit for employees seeking assistance with their rights, representation and benefits. The MSC is staffed with technicians and union agents who are knowledgeable in contractual matters and union rights, ready to answer questions, discuss a situation, resolve an issue at the informal level and escalate the matter as appropriate.

Submit an application to become an HGEA Member
If you’re a current state or county employee in bargaining units 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 13, 14 or 15, HGEA negotiates contracts on your behalf and helps enforce collective bargaining agreements. Retired state or county employees, private sector, non-profit employees and others can join as associate members.
