Members Serving Members
Every two years elections are held for the state Board of Directors, made up of representatives from across the nine bargaining units of HGEA and our island divisions.
Elections for the 2025-2027 State Board of Directors concluded on July 5 with the counting and certifying of run-off ballots for president and Unit 13. Mahalo to all the candidates who ran and members who voted.
The next regular election will be held in 2027 for the subsequent two-year term. Nomination petition information will be posted as we draw closer to the next election.

As our new board members begin their 2025-2027 term, we wanted to get their thoughts on the issues facing the union and how we can engage our membership. We spoke with Deputy Sheriff Robert Umiamaka, Unit 14 director; Kaneohe Elementary Principal Derek Minakami, Oahu director-at-large; and President Ginet Hayes.
