The arbitrator in our Hawaii County temporary hazard case appears open to reducing the amount of testimony needed to bring all of this to a close. If so, this is a great reversal from the previous direction that would have required testimony from every single job classification exposed to COVID, amounting to hundreds of you being asked to testify.
But Mayor Mitch Roth is still playing games with his employees. At this late hour, the county has adopted the position that employees would need to prove they came in contact with someone positive with COVID. And he’s paying a hired gun — a so-called “expert” he found on a sketchy website — to refute your right to hazard pay.
It’s bullshit. We’ll fight back with experts of our own. And at the ballot box in November we need to send a clear message by casting our votes for Dr. Kimo Alameda.
Watch Randy Perreira’s update on THP and his reaction to Mayor Mitch Roth’s latest antics.
