In an effort to address the replacement of sheriff identification uniform patches required because of the transfer to the Department of Law Enforcement, the DLE has proposed a supplemental agreement to make a one-time lump sum payment of $120 to deputy sheriffs.
Ratification for this agreement starts today and closes at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29.
Under the proposed supplemental agreement, the following would apply to affected employees:
- 12 patches will be distributed to each deputy for five uniforms and one jacket (two patches per uniform/jacket).
- Deputies will make individual arrangements with an established alteration company or tailor.
- Deputies will ensure that all new patches are installed professionally and in accordance with the department’s instructions.
- Deputies will receive a one-time lump sum payment of $120.
