Pay Increase Information for DOE employees in Units 2, 3, 4, & 13

The Hawaii Department of Education (DOE) has confirmed that HGEA retroactive payments for Units 2, 3, and 4 effective July 1, 2020 and Unit 13 effective July 1, 2019 will be processed on the April 20, 2021 pay date.  

Deferred Compensation Options Information Provided by Prudential

Island Saving Plan

If you are a participant in the Island Savings/State of Hawaii Deferred Compensation Plan, you may want to consider contributing all or some of your retroactive payment to the plan on a tax advantaged basis. Contributions to the Island Savings Plan are made on a pre-tax basis and can help reduce the amount of taxes you would otherwise pay if the retroactive payment was paid directly to you.

If you are currently enrolled in the Island Savings Plan and would like to contribute some or all of the upcoming retroactive payment, please complete the attached Payout Deferral Election Form and return it to the plan’s recordkeeper, Prudential Retirement, no later than Monday March 29, 2021.   

Forms may be returned to Prudential by scanning and emailing then to pr.isp.hawaii@prudential.com or by fax to (808) 536-0572. Prudential does not require originals.
