May 1 was National Principals’ Day! We would like to mahalo all principals for their leadership and dedication to the next generation of scholars.
Keoni Wilhelm, Unit 6 member, decided to return to H.P. Baldwin High School after graduating and completing a summer teaching session. His love for giving back to his community and helping students fulfill their dreams is what keeps him motivated. Mahalo for all you do, Keoni!

May 3 was National School Lunch Heroes’ Day! We would like to mahalo all school lunch professionals for their selfless dedication to ensure the health and nutrition of our students.
Jason Schwerdtfeger, Unit 2 member, was inspired by his father to go into the culinary arts. He had a passion for teaching and helping the community, which motivated him to combine his two interests for his career as a school food services manager. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Jason organized weekly food deliveries for more than 70 students. Mahalo for all you do, Jason!

During this Teachers’ Appreciation Week, we’d like to extend a warm mahalo to all the school professionals. Education doesn’t just happen in classrooms. To participate, school professionals simply need to present a valid school ID. This offer is open to all educators in the state of Hawaii. This is a Hawaii specific offer.
