Aloha Subscriber,
A settlement offer from the City and County of Honolulu for temporary hazard pay was ratified by employees in Unit 15 who worked for the city from March 5, 2020 to March 5, 2022.
According to the offer, eligible employees would receive temporary hazard pay at 15% of the entry rate of their salary range for all non-leave hours worked during the two-year time period of the pandemic. Payment would be subject to taxes, dues, and contributions to the Employees’ Retirement System. Former employees should confirm with your former department’s human resources office to ensure that your current address is correct.
The city is targeting this fall to issue payments to affected employees.
If you worked for the city during the pandemic (see the timeframe above) but have since retired or left employment, you may be entitled to temporary hazard pay under this settlement.
