After a rigorous vetting process, the HGEA board of directors approved the full slate of primary election endorsements. This list is comprised of candidates who share our union’s values. Electing labor-friendly lawmakers means better laws and quality of life for Hawaii’s working families, so please consider voting for these candidates when you cast your ballot.
Ballots will be mailed to you around July 23. Be sure to mail yours back early, and encourage your friends and family to do the same.

Tamayo Perry Celebration of Life
Sunday, July 14 at 3 p.m.
Ehukai Beach Park
On June 23, Tamayo Perry, water safety officer with Honolulu City & County, was attacked by a shark and passed away. For those who would like to honor his memory, please join his friends and family at this celebration of life. Donations are welcomed.
Perry was a well-known and respected lifeguard serving Oahu’s North Shore since 2016. HGEA extends our heartfelt condolences to Perry’s loved ones.
