HGEA has filed a class grievance on behalf of all Unit 9 members in the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation-East Hawaii Region due to ongoing payroll issues that have resulted in both overpayments and underpayments.
These issues have been vast, varied, persistent, and are affecting the financial stability of many of our members. We are:
Demanding an independent, external audit of payroll records for all Unit 9 employees in the impacted region
Requesting accounting services for each impacted employee to verify what is owed or due
Calling for an immediate cease and desist of all attempts by the employer to collect overpayments until these issues are properly sorted out
We understand the significant stress these payroll errors have caused, and we are committed to resolving this fairly and accurately. You should not be penalized for errors beyond your control.
