Aloha Subscriber,
A settlement offer from the City and County of Honolulu for temporary hazard pay was ratified by employees in Units 2, 3, 4 and 13 who filed requests for temporary hazard pay pursuant to the contract and the initial 2021 settlement agreement.
According to the offer, employees who worked for the city from March 5, 2020 to March 5, 2022 — and filed a timely THP request — would receive a payment of $15,000, subject to taxes, dues, and contributions to the Employees’ Retirement System.
The city is targeting this fall to issue payments to affected employees.
If you worked for the city during the pandemic (see the timeframe above) but have since retired or left employment, you may be entitled to temporary hazard pay under this settlement.
Former employees should confirm with your former department’s human resources office to ensure that your current address is correct.
