Aloha Subscriber,
Current active employees of state executive branch departments (excludes HHSC, Judiciary, University of Hawaii, Public Charter Schools and DOE) are already beginning to fill out their eligibility forms in the state’s HIP system. We’ve received a number of questions from members who have since retired or left service with the state executive branch. Here’s what you need to know:
Am I eligible for THP?
If you worked during the pandemic (from March 4, 2020 to March 24, 2022) in the state executive branch but have since retired or left state employment, you’re entitled to temporary hazard pay under our settlement with Gov. Green.
Yes, employees who have retired or left service will be contacted by the state via mail for temporary access to HIP and the online form. You should confirm with your department designee of your former department that your current address is correct.
This is the state’s form, not HGEA’s. If you have any questions regarding eligibility and the payout process, contact your department designee.
The deadline to complete and submit the form is July 31.
Any future updates will be posted to our settlement information page for members who left service.
